Use a combination of sea salt (regular iodized salt will do in a pinch) and warm water to ritually bathe your hands and fingers, light a small candle, and concentrate on the meaning of the question before beginning the reading.

The cards speak their truth easily to those who believe and listen.  Even nonbelievers can be converted by a true tarot reading, just as I was.  The peace and spiritual joy that comes with this divine knowledge is truly unparalleled, and cannot be faked.
